Hi everyone, hope you had a great Christmas without too many cares. Sadly, sometimes Christmas is far from care-free, with the costs and stresses of getting some people down so much that you can almost forget that it's a time to celebrate. And when it takes that extra time to finally get into the spirit of it, it can be over in the blink of an eye, just as you're starting to enjoy it.
Don't you wish there was some way to keep Christmas with you throughout the year AND be sure you'll be ready for it when December rolls around? Well, guess what, there is! From the bottom of my heart, I can recommend the Chrisco Christmas hamper club...
Chrisco hampers offer you all the food, accessories and gifts you could possibly need. With a little bit of planning, you can spend the year paying off supplies little by little. You will hardly notice that the money has gone each week, but come Christmas time, it will all add up to a wonderful hamper of Christmas goods being delievered to your house. The sooner you order and start paying, the smaller your weekly/fortnightly/mothly (whatever suits you best) payments will be.
The full range of hamper choices can be viewed online
, or you can request a catalogue by calling 1800 144 662.
It may sound like a well-worn advertising slogan, but never a truer word was spoken than when they say you really can save for a magical Christmas with Chrisco.I am not a troll, nor do I make any profit from posting this. I simply believe in this program, and think you will too if you give it a go. This is not spam.

Sydney Rockers: 1980s
So i was invited to join a facebook group called Sydney Rockers and it's basically the place where all of the old Sydney rockers and rockabilly folk from the 1980s and early 1990s post all their old pictures!
The photos are AMAZING. there are so many of them, but here are my favourites. I've kept to the black and white and sepia ones. Just to keep a theme. But the old colour ones are amazing too.
Thought some of you guys might be interested to see how things were done in rockabilly revival of the 1980s here in Sydney!
From a newspaper clipping.

I finished this dress a few months ago, but only just got around to actually taking a picture of it! The pattern was a little bit odd, I had enormous troubles with the collar and I am still not totally happy with it... but it's not too bad!
Check out how dry my backyard is. Summer in Australia is a bitch!

hello I'm new to this community. I'm situated in sydney and love anything from 20s-80s. currently I have a mod haircut, but plan to transform into Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby (hopefully I will avoid any romantic liaisons with Frank Sinatra though) by this afternoon.
I have a collection of kitsch and mod earrings which I love dearly. I have polka dotted ones, striped one, huge round ones, crazy square ones - call me mad (many have) i would like to know if anyone has ever seen argyle

Does anyone collect vintage fabrics?...
I have this piece of i think 1970s? fabric..its about 2 metres long by 1 metre wide...
Not sure what to do with it. Might try to stretch it over a frame, or make a wall hanging.
It kind of reminds me of super mario brothers (the pipes in the game!!)

I run a photography company which specialises in pin-up photography, as well as band shots.( This is me!Collapse )( & this is some of my photography workCollapse )
I'm Fredison (or Lex) and I'm in Melbourne.

Yay another great Community to join!!
Okey a little about me. My name is Marty, im 29 and live in adelaide.
I am into cult and arthouse movies, music, collecting; records; toys; retro/vintage gear.
I actually first got into retro (or what some people call vintage) when my aunty gave me an awesome starburst clock! from there i have been into collecting space age furniture (kartell plastics, panton chairs, and fabrics)
I also collect Tretchikoff paintings (i have chinese girl, blalanese girl and miss wong) so far
I also love dressing up (as you will see the pic i attach) Last year i went to a Surf safari pub crawl, that was a total riot! there is one held here in adelaide every year!
That is all for now, i hope to meet sum interesting peopel here, and to swap sum retro pad/decor tips!!!
Just thought we could have a few intro posts to get to know eachother! Maybe post a pic, say something good about your city, and if you have a vintage-esque photo of yourself let us all have a perve ;)
Well to kick things off...I'm Mara, I'm from Perth but I now live in Adelaide. I like mostly hardcore/punk music, but I listen to heaps of rockabilly/jazz/indie also. I do swing dancing once a week and I like vintage furniture, bric-a-brac, hair, clothing and accessories, mostly from the 40s and 50s. I also like tattoos, and I'm studying teaching and sociology at uni!
There's an amazing shop here in A-town called Polkadot, they have beautiful repro and vintage dresses, but it's all heaps pricey which sucks for a poor student like me. There are also some great antique shops that are definitely worth a look, and the Portside markets have amazing vintage - I just bought this hat for $10!
It's gonna be a pleasure to meet you all, I'm sure!!
